Allow the RedGard membrane to cure for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. The color will turn from pink to a solid red sheet with no pink spots when it is fully dry. It is most important that you wait for the color of the product to turn completely red as ambient conditions will make the dry time vary.

Does Thinset absorb water?

Cement board, backer board, thinset mortar, tile, grout and sealers aren't waterproof. Some tile absorbs very little, while grout and natural stone are porous as a sponge.

Does 100% silicone stick to RedGard?

Caulk that gap with siliconized or latex caulk and then use Redgard over the caulk. Regard will not stick to 100% silicone caulk. You DO NOT want moisture collecting in that crevice and it can if you stuff it with thinset. Then after the tile is installed caulk that gap also.

Can I use modified thinset with Kerdi?
